Fortnite Season 7 map changes | New Points of Interest including Polar Peak, Happy Hamlet, new biome!

It was widely expected that the map would undergo a Winter transformation, with snow and ice covering the island, with leaks dropping towards the end of the season all but confirmed that would be the case.

Epic Games then released teasers warning of a “frigid day” and that “bitter ice” would be spreading, while fans watched as a large iceberg drifted towards the south shore of the island.
However, with dataminers already sifting through the files in an attempt to leak new items and weapons, Twitter user lucas7yoshi has released the first image of what the map will look like during Season 7.
Fans also got a glimpse at what the new map will look like during the Season 7 trailer, which you can watch below.
Unfortunately, images of the new areas have not been made available yet, but we’ll update with pictures as soon as we can!

The biggest change to the map in Fortnite’s Season 7 is the inclusion of the new Iceberg biome. Located in the south-west corner of the map, it’s a bitterly cold area covered in snow and ice, that spreads all the way up to Tilted Towers.
It appears that this biome was created when the iceberg, which had been spotted floating in the ocean to the south of the map, collided with the island.

Frosty Flights

Frosty Flights is one of three new named Points of Interest on the map, located right on the shoreline in the south-west corner of the map.
It’s likely that this area will be built around the new X-4 Stormwing place, which is a new vehicle introduced during Season 7.

Polar Peak

Also located in the Iceberg biome, Polar Peak seems to sit on top of a mountain or hill in the centre of the biome, however no other information is available at this time.

Happy Hamlet

It appears Happy Hamlet may be visible in the Season 7 trailer, but with the servers yet to go live, it’s impossible to say for certain.

Other map changes

The patch notes for the V7.00 update confirmed that ziplines now feature in the game, allowing players to zip from area to area with speed, while still being able to use their weapon or items. These look to be located solely in the Iceberg biome.
The notes also confirmed that there are other new Points of Interest dotted around the map that are nameless, and more icey areas have been added away from the large biome in the south.
Keep checking back as we’ll be adding images and more information to this article as they become available!
